Some of the highlights include: Wrangler JK has one engine option, while Wrangler JL has three engine options. Both have a standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, but the JL also has an available turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine. The Wrangler JL is 200 pounds lighter than the JK. Wrangler JK models offer a 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. Wrangler JL models offer a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission. The front end of the Wrangler JL has been redesigned with a more raked grille to increase aerodynamics, new front fender flares with a running light and turn signal built in, and a larger, sportier bumper. The Wrangler JL has a larger rubber bump stop on the hood to protect the windshield when you fold it down. The Wrangler JL offers a new convertible option, known as the all-new premium Sunrider. Wrangler JL models have more off-road capabilities than most JK trims. JL models feature a ground clearance of 10.9 inches, water-treading up to 30 inches deep, and a standard crawl ratio of 2.72:1. A new "Wrangler JK" decal is featured on the driver's side front quarter panel, and new editions join the lineup: Wrangler JK Golden Eagle, Freedom and Altitude.
