The 2018 Jeep Wrangler: What We Know So Far

2018 Jeep Wrangler Specs The Jeep Wrangler has been known for its classic build and traditional look since the 1940’s. This rugged looking utility vehicle is getting a buff and shine for its reboot expected in 2018. Since 2007, the redesign has been in the works and it is speculated to leave Jeep lovers everywhere stunned with its new capabilities. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Specs? more Potentially taking a hint from other industry leaders, Fiat-Chrysler may be introducing the 2018 Jeep Wrangler with an aluminum body shell. The benefits of an aluminum body shell, according to the Aluminum Association, include a reduction in the total carbon emissions, and a reduction in weight resulting in a higher fuel efficiency. Despite questions from the public, Fiat-Chrysler officials shot down rumors that the 2018 Wrangler would have a unibody design; instead keeping with the tradition of the classic Jeep body-on-frame construction. Another change in the 2018 Wrangler will be the fact that it is an eight-speed automatic. The same unit is featured on models such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Dodge Challenger. The eight-speed auto that will make a new home in the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, called the Chrysler Torqueflite, is said to reduce fuel consumption by more than 9 percent over the five-speed. On top of better fuel mileage, it was revealed that the new Wrangler will be a hybrid featuring an electric motor. Brand head Mike Manley stated that “with an electric motor you have the most torque available and with the right combination of transmission and gear ratios you can create incredible crawl ratios.” To sum it up, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will be a fresh face in the line of previous Jeep cars that have become classics. The refreshing changes in the legendary off-roader could mean big changes for fuel economy in the sport utility vehicle industry.

What's the Jeep wave all about?

Why do Jeep drivers wave at each other? If you're a Jeep Wrangler driver, you may very well already know about the Jeep wave. If you don't, it's time to learn in order to keep all your fellow Wrangler drivers happy with a tradition that keeps going strong. It's a friendly gesture that says, "Hey, you've got great taste in vehicles, and I would know!" Many Wrangler drivers are very interested in keeping the amicable tradition alive. So what are the rules? There are two rules of the Jeep wave: 1. All Jeep Wrangler Owners Must Wave 2. New Jeep Waves First And really that second one is pretty negotiable -- after all, it might not be immediately clear the model year of a given Jeep when passed quickly on the road -- Just wave either way to be on the safe side. If you see another Jeep driver wave,  of course you should wave back! Do other Jeep model drivers do this? Not that we know of, but if you drive a Cherokee, Patriot, or some other great Jeep model, why not give it a try? You never know, you could start an all-new tradition right here in Racine. Speaking of right here in Racine, why not come in and see us for a test drive of the 2015 Jeep Wrangler. We might just see some other Wrangler drivers out there, in which case you know what to do...

What will you drive this winter?

Is the Jeep Wrangler good in snow? The Wrangler Polar is made with snowy days in mind, but how about the average Jeep Wrangler? Last year, Jeep brought you the Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition, which featured an icy exterior color as well as special features like 18-inch polished aluminum wheels, an available Tru-Lok electronic locker for the Dana 44 rear axel, and Bridgestone Dueler tires with aggressive tread. It was definitely ready for winter. How about the other versions, though? Is the Jeep Wrangler good in snow? Today we explore that question with a look at some of the standard and available features that might just help you get through another Wisconsin winter! more Here at Palmen Dodge Chrysler Jeep of Racine, we think the Jeep Wrangler is a great choice for winter! Here are a few reasons why: It'll be toasty in here in no time! 1. Advanced drive- and powertrain. Every Jeep Wrangler, even the base model, comes standard with a V-6 engine and 4x4 drive type that allows you to conquer and grip the road most effectively. Many people in Wisconsin prefer a vehicle with a little more capability than the average sedan, and the Wrangler is a solid choice in that regard. 2. High clearance. The Jeep Wrangler sits a little taller than some of its counterparts in the crossover/SUV game, and that can give you a distinct advantage in winter. Anyone who's ever been stuck in deep snow or helped someone else out of it (so probably just about everyone in the state!) knows what we mean here. It's a familiar sight for many of us, but it doesn't need to be scary for drivers. 3. Good heating system. Wranglers are known for how quickly they warm up, and that's worth a lot to many drivers who don't want to shiver and see their breath for half of the morning commute. Even those who opt for a soft-top Wrangler will be impress with how warm it gets inside -- and then of course be grateful for the ease of the soft top once another one of our gorgeous summers rolls around. If you think a Jeep Wrangler might be just what you need this winter, give us a call here at Palmen and we'll get you behind the wheel for a test drive!

Jeep is found to be most American brand in study

Most American? It's Jeep according to one study. Most American Vehicle Brand When you think of what represents America, there are probably a lot of brands that come to mind. Here at Palmen of Racine, we were happy to see that in one recent study, one of our own was found to be ‘most American’ out of all brands. That brand was Jeep, which was named most American in research done by the firm Brand Keys recently. So when it comes to most American vehicle brand – at least in this study – the winner is Jeep. more While we sure are proud of our American vehicle brand, we’d have to say that we were pleasantly surprised that it came out at #1 overall. Our surprise is even more obvious when you consider that the brands it was competing against include Coca Cola, Hershey’s and other serious name brands. But when you think of someone rolling through the rough terrain in a Jeep Wrangler with the top down, it strikes us as indeed very American. Since we mentioned the Jeep Wrangler in Kenosha, let’s take a look at what it offers. Capability has to be at the top of the list, as the Wrangler is well known for being able to tackle some tough situations. When those situations include some very rough terrain, the Electronic Sway Bar Disconnect comes into play. This allows the sway bar to disengage in 4LO mode, meaning the wheels can actually drop and compress up to 22%. But what it really means is that you can get up and over the obstacles with the Wrangler. Add to that the Command-Trac 4WD that comes into play in slick conditions, and the Wrangler is the ultimate off-road vehicle. And yes, it’s also very American. See it in person at Palmen of Racine and experience the capability for yourself. Of course, you may not be able to take it over any large rocks – but you’ll get the idea.
